ABOUT US

The Women’s Crisis Support Service has provided shelter to women and their children for over 40 years. We offer Crisis Accommodation or support to help you stay safe in your own home.

OUR MISSON

WCSSI has been providing an escape from domestic and family violence since 1977.  Our clients always have someone to talk to whether it is about something specific, or if they just need a chat with a cup of coffee in hand.  The Shelter is located in Ipswich and the address is kept confidential to keep our clients and staff safe.  We run a number of programs with our clients and link them to local services that can help rebuild lives.

A shelter provides safe emergency accommodation for women and children escaping violent or abusive situations.  Shelters exist because we believe that women have the right to live their life free of violence and fear. Our team assists with Centrelink, schooling, legal and housing related matters.

Domestic Violence is an Epidemic

One third of women experience some form of Domestic Violence in their lifetime.  Gender based violence is a crime in Australia and kills hundreds of women worldwide every day.
